A phone call
One character on a call. We may or may not see the other side.
A call is a dialogue scene with one actor. Cover it like a single: medium, close, and an insert of the phone. If you shoot the other side later, keep the same size and the opposite eyeline direction, so the two halves cut together like an OTS pair.
Watch out. Record the other actor’s lines live off camera so the timing of pauses is real.
Medium. The call from start to end.
Close. The lines that matter.
Insert: the phone screen, the name, the timer.
Pull out at the end. Alone with the news.
Other side, if shot: same size, opposite eyeline.
